Five & Dine 135 E Main St., Rock Hill, South Carolina http://www.eatatfiveanddine.com/ | Saturday Jason had a day filled with surprises for us. One of them being eating at Five & Dine in Rock Hill. He had randomly came across it online while looking for a new place for us to go. It's located in historic downtown Rock Hill, SC. Cute town that reminds me of Mayberry from Andy Griffith. We got there around 3:30 and no one was there. We had the entire dining room to ourselves. The place was set up like an old soda shop in my opinion. Really cute and comfortable setting. We were seated in a corner wrap around booth. The bartender, who was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu, waited |
on us. We decided to all get completely different items since it was our first time there. For an appetizer we ordered Shrimp and Grits Fritters and Italian Meatballs. The shrimp and grits fritters were to die for. So delicious! The meatballs, which the waiter went on and on about, were good but not the greatest I've ever had. For entrees we got Pecan Glazed Pork Loin, Smothered Chicken, Crab Cakes and Yankee Pot Roast. I could individually break them down for you but in all honesty they were all delicious. None of us had any complaints whatsoever. The prices were very reasonable too. Ranging between $8-$15 depending on what you get. We did not partake in the handmade sodas but the menu made them sound divine. I know we went at an odd time but between the food itself, the prices and the service, I don't know why this place wasn't packed, because it should be. We all agree and give Five & Dine five out of five stars. Next time you are in the piedmont of upstate South Carolina definitely stop by Five & Dine and give them a try. Your taste buds will thank you!
